Rakśal Sun-Wasihl, the Monkey Prince, is a monkey Bubbal born of a mountain like his older brother, Wukong Sun. However, unlike Wukong, he was born “premature”, causing him to be underdeveloped as an infant and not as “godly” as his brother.
Shortly after his birth, the Wasihl and Rawasch families were attacked by the Malaki Rajaśun, leaving Aiyūl Wasihl alone. After witnessing one of her bouts of madness, Wukong took pity on her and allowed her to raise Rakśal in his stead, ultimately saving her sanity.
He is the protagonist of Album Zero, the Monkey.
Appearance
Rakśal’s appearance is comparable to an adult man in his early twenties. He is clean-shaven, has chosen not to grow a beard, and has heterochromia—his left eye is silver, his right eye is golden-brown. His skin is a warm brown, noticeably without many flaws, though he does have faded scars all over his body. The worst is across his abdomen, where he was almost bifurcated during his time living in Cicēol. He wears his hair in knee-length, medium-sized locs with the sides of his head shaved.
He bears claws, albeit more humanoid ones than his brother’s, on his hands and feet, and his fangs are large but blunt. He did not have claws or fangs when he was a child.
Apparel
He prefers fitted but breathable clothing that are colored black with mid-hued reds for accents. He has pierced ears and typically wears small hooped silver earrings or small silver ring plugs. Other accessories he has includes a chain-entwined scarf he obtained during his time in Cicēol that he often wears around his waist.
Personality
Rakśal often has brash thoughts but rarely acts on them. He takes after his mother and is incapable of tolerating nonsense. In Album Zero, the Monkey, he is slightly more reckless than usual due to his desperation, but he is ordinary level-headed and more mature than his age suggests.
Trivia
- Cicēol was Rakśal's home for one minor year and six months prior to chapter two of Album Zero, the Monkey, “All is White”.
- His weapon is named Nyoi Bō after his brother's Jingubang, but he also calls it Sewonga.
